Daemon Targaryn est le frère du Roi Viserys. Il a été considéré un temps comme l'héritier légitime au trône mais son caractère turbulent et influent l'a écarté. Après son second mariage avec lady Laena Velaryon (qui lui a donné deux filles, Baela et Rhaena), il épouse Rhaenyra (sa nièce) en troisième noce.
